The Salerno Theatre Co., "Tampa Bay's Musical Theatre Company," along with its sister company, American Concert Company, is bringing its widely acclaimed theatrical concert production of BROADWAY IN CONCERT back to the Hickman Theatre for a 2-week run, May 15-25, 2008.
BROADWAY IN CONCERT first premiered at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in August 2006 for a Princeton, NJ-based Fortune 500 corporation prior to touring the State of Florida.
“I have been involved in the professional theatre industry for over 40 years and I think I can be considered an expert in judging the quality of a show,” says Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Production Manager, Michael Chamoun.
“Salerno Theatre’s BROADWAY IN CONCERT was very professional… up to the standard of our TBPAC-produced shows. It was the best non-center produced show I’ve seen. The audience loved it and responded after each and every number. The cast and musicians were outstanding. I would have no reservations about recommending this show to anyone!”
BROADWAY IN CONCERT played a short four concert special engagement at the Hickman January 4-7, 2007 and all shows were sold out.
Since it played 15-months ago in Gulfport, BROADWAY IN CONCERT has been updated with new songs, new scenes, and five new cast members for the 2008/09 touring season. While the new incarnation of the show is inline with the original, the new BROADWAY IN CONCERT will appeal to both audiences who saw the show last year, as well as those who haven't experienced it yet.
